In this episode of the Mattacritic. I will be reviewing and analyzing Star Wars Andor Season 1 Episode 4 that is currently on Disney+ done by Lucasfilm. I will go over several topics in this episode. I will give you my rating at the end of this episode. Now on with the review.
This episode begins with Cassian Andor with Luther Rael on his ship as they are escaping from the Empire. They go into light speed. Cassian tells Luther, he has never seen a ship like this do that before. Luther tells him, this has been a day full of surprises. Luther lets him know that he needs to get cleaned up from the blaster wound. You need to stop bleeding on my floor. Luther tells him, you are more valuable than that box. Luther tells him, you have two choices come with me, get dropped off at another planet, or you can kill me and try to take this ship. Cassian at first tells Luther, you can just drop me off and I will go on my own. Luther tells him, that has been working so well so far. Luther tells him, I know you like he told him in the last episode.
Luther told him, I knew what had happened to you. Cassian tells him, I know exactly what happened to my people. The people that we were fighting is ourselves as on Canaria. Cassian tells Luther that I do not want to be thrown into another war. The Empire is the reason we were fighting ourselves. Luther tells him that should make you hate them more. What have you got to lose? Don’t you want to fight for something real?
Luther tells him, I will pay you 200,000 credits if you help me to rob the imperial payroll. Believe me, 200,000 credits are a lot. It is no different than if I got paid $200,000. That is a lot of money. Cassian tells him, I will do what you ask. To me, Cassian would have to be a fool not to take this offer. Luther tells Cassian to think of a name once we get to Aldhani. Cassian tells Luther that he will call himself Clen. Luther tells Cassian that is who you will be for the next five days. You tell everyone that you are Clen. Cassian shaves his beard off and changes the way he wears his hair. Believe me, when I tell you this, I would not have recognized him, if I was not watching this show.
They get on Aldhani and Luther tells Cassian that he needs to talk to Vel who is the leader of the group. Vel is upset at first at finding this out, but Luther tells her, you need him, and if you do not take him, I will be shutting you down. Vel realizes that she has no choice but to do what Luther wants her to do. She takes Clen as she knows him to be. Luther leaves. Clen goes off with her.
Aldhani is a pretty planet, and it is not industrial unlike Coruscant. Coruscant is a planet that is a city planet. Aldhani was conquered by the Empire and a tribe that leaved there for thousands of years was drawn out of their land. Clen believed that they were exterminated, but Vel tells him no.
They later meet up with the people who are going to be the other soldiers. Vel tells Center to clean Clen’s wound. Clen gets his wound cleaned by Center. She tells him, sorry about this as we are trying to save money.
Clen realizes they want to attack the Empire’s main supply run. Clen thinks that it is crazy, but he goes along with it.
As not to reveal anymore, nothing more will be revealed here. It does bring the viewer to the climax of this episode and set up Episode 5 of this series. It will have Moth M. who was critical to the Rebellion’s success. She is a Senator in this episode and is meeting with Luther Rael. Luther is trying to acquire more funds for the rebellion. There is also an agency called the Imperial Security Bureau.
I will give you, my rating. I give Star Wars Andor Season 1 Episode 4, a 10 out 10. It was fun and does an excellent job of mixing the Science Fiction with the Espionage in this series. This series is timely as right now if you look at what is happening in the world. You have leaders in the world that want to behave like the Empire, and they are looking to expand their power. If you dare cross them, then you will be in trouble. Those in power never want to give it up, and they tell their followers lies to stay in power.
