Introduction
Hello everyone, welcome to the Mattacritic. This is Matthew Hemenway. I know that Disney and ABC extended Jimmy Kimmel’s contract, so reviewing this film on Disney+ is not a problem as they did the right thing. In this episode of the Mattacritic, I will be reviewing and analyzing the Christmas movie Joy to the World that is currently on Disney+. Joy Edwards is a successful author who has written the successful book series about her fictional life about her make-believe family. She claims to be married to a guy named Max and has kids named Tommy and Torrie. People will believe that this is her life. I will explain more in this review. If you are watching the video or listening to the audio of this podcast, I will leave the link to watch the trailer of the movie in the description below. There will be no images as they are hard to find on the internet in the video version of this episode. I hope this episode inspires you to read, watch, and learn. Thank you.

Rest of Review and rating of Joy to The World Christmas movie
Before I continue with the analysis of this review, here is the trailer for the movie.
Joy Edwards is portrayed by Emmanuelle Chriqui who creates this fictional family as mentioned before in this review. She decides that she is tired and doesn’t want to keep having to pretend that she lives the perfect life. The book series is called Christmas on Goose Lane. She tells the host of the talk show played by Ayesha Curry whose name is Liza Brown, that the secret to being happy is having a husband that loves you. You want a man that loves you and messes up your lipstick not your mascara as she tells the ladies. That makes sense, it means he is kissing you not making you cry for the women of this audience.
Chad Michael Murray plays Max her best friend and the love of her life. As Sabrina says in the trailer you two will have great online chemistry., who ends up playing her fictional daughter Torrie. Sabrina’s actual brother Hank will portray her older brother Tommy, who is supposed to be 13 while Hank’s real age is 15. Hank who wants to be called Hawk, since he was found skateboarding near Joy Edwards house and he gets on her for doing it. The irony is that when they are all doing this, it ironically helps them all to see what is important.
Joy Edwards’ maid Marta will pretend to be her mother in this fictional family, and she will tell Joy, I am too young to be your mother. Joy tells her that you had me when you were young. What this means is as a teenager or young adult.
Joy Edwards will ask Freddie to pretend to be her father, and he is the mail man. He and Marta get close, and Freddie knows his zip codes. You can see the chemistry between Marta and Freddie.
Joy Edwards Agent Josh, who is portrayed by Farid Yazdani, tells Joy Edwards that you live a great life. Joy tells him, I want a life not a pretend life. He later tells her that it was Merriman’s idea for the TV show that is hosted by Liza to visit her on Goose Lane.
Merriman, who is portrayed by Daniel Kash, wants to go out with a bang if she is not going to write any more books on Christmas on Goose Lane. She is shocked to find this out from Josh, but she must come up with a plan to save face.
This being a romantic comedy that is Christmas themed, you could not expect it to be without problems. It needs conflict. That will mean something that could derail fantasy from the viewer’s and reader’s minds.
Joy Edwards will come up with a pretend chicken coop pretending to have fresh eggs. She will start to get closer to her pretend husband of Max portrayed by Chad Michael Murray. As Sabrina, who pretends to be Torrie, tells them, you have great chemistry.
Hank her brother will claim if he was Max; he would tell a girl if he liked her. As Sabrina tells her brother, you don’t. You hadn’t even told a girl that you like her at all.
As not to be revealed, nothing more will be revealed here. It does bring the viewer to the climax of this story.
I will give you, my rating. I give Joy to the World, a 10 out of 10. It is a wonderful story and helps the viewer understand the needs of the heart. Yes, Joy Edwards creates this fictional life, but she helps people to open their eyes and their hearts. Personally, it does well with Max being more than just a friend. He stays in her pool house and Max is a talented artist. He is a great painter. Joy Edwards tells him; you want to get into the best artist gallery. Max is not wanting to settle for the second best in his life either. He wants to be with Joy Edwards as the film will show. He is with her for a reason. She knows that she has feelings for him but is afraid of exercising them. Merriman tells her in the movie that life is a risk, whether it is professional or personal. You need to take the risk and go for it. It is hard for each person to take risks. This movie hits you with heart knowledge and that is important.
