Hello everyone, Matthew Hemenway here. Have I got a review for you today? In this video and blog post, I will be reviewing and analyzing DCOM movie Avalon High that is currently on Disney+. I will go over several topics in this video and blog post. Now on with the review.
Why am I reviewing this movie? Like I mentioned in my other DCOM movie reviews, as I would have told you, this is a quality movie, and this movie is no different in that it is a quality movie. The movies that I would have reviewed so far is Alley Cats Strike, Shook, and Dad Napped. When I first saw this movie was back in 2011 on Netflix. It came out on Disney Channel on 2010. I enjoyed watching this movie as it has the legend of Arthur, High School, and Football wrapped up in one movie. If you like King Arthur, High School, and Football in a story like this, then this movie is for you.
Allie who is played by Britt Roberson. Britt Roberson later is in a movie with George Clooney called Tomorrowland which came out in 2015 and that movie was done by Disney as well as this one. Allie moves with her parents to go to Avalon High to find King Arthur. Her parents work as medieval professors of literature. Allie wants to live a normal life in that she wants to make friends, run track, and just go to school like a normal teenager. She has been moving with her parents, and they have been moving her every six months. I know what it is like to move like that. I moved every 3 to 4 years in the first 12 years of my life and I hated that, but I once I moved to Charlotte, NC, I have been living here for 30 years and not have moved since. I have loved that a lot better and it is nice to be living here for that long. I love Charlotte and even despite my accident, I would not leave because this is such a beautiful city to live in.
Allie makes friends with Will who is the team’s quarterback. She meets him first when she is running in the park. She sees water with Will filling up a Pewter cup. She thinks it is weird and if I were in her position, I would happen to agree with her.
Allie gets to school and tells her mother to pick her up at 5 PM as she will be trying out for track. Allie sees Miles getting bullied by Marco. Will comes in to save the day. Will later makes friends with Allie along with Lance and Jen. Lance calls Jen the coolest chick in school. Marco is supposed to resemble Modro. Will is supposed to King Arthur.
The viewer later gets introduced to Mr. Moore as he passes out the assignments for Camelot. Allie is paired with Miles, and Mr. Moore tells them that their project will involve the Order of the Bear. The Order of the Bear is a secret organization that believes that King Arthur will come back when is needed most. It does not say how Arthur will return. Lance gets paired with Jen which will cause a love triangle between her, Lance, and Will. It what happens to King Arther when Modro told Arthur that Gen was having an affair with Lancelot.
Marco is Modro or so the viewer thinks so, but he is not. It surprised me who is Modro in this movie. I will not tell you as not to spoil the movie. Answer this question, who is Modro in this movie? It will surprise you. You will not expect it.
The viewer thinks that Will Wagner is King Arthur, but he is not. Who is King Arthur? Please leave your answer in the comment section below. It will surprise you if you have not seen the movie in who it is.
As not to reveal anymore, nothing more will be revealed here. It does bring the viewer to the climax of the story. The team is called the Knights, and they are trying to get to State. As Will Wagner tells Allie earlier in the movie, he needs to get a football scholarship to go to college. He told her that if he does not do what everyone expects, he will be letting the school down as well as himself. He says, no football scholarship, no college. Allie says, no pressure there. I give Avalon High, a 10 out 10. It was well done. It does an excellent job of mixing the legend of King Arthur, High School, and football in this movie. If you like either of these things, this movie is for you. Thank you for watching.
