Hello everyone, welcome to the Mattacritic. This is Matthew Hemenway. In this episode, I will be reviewing and reacting to Ant-Man Quantomania that was released on Monday October 24, 2022. I saw the trailer on October 24, 2022, and it was awesome. I will be playing the trailer to watch, and I will give you my insights after you watch it. When the trailer begins, the viewer sees Paul Rudd back as Ant-Man and he narrates the beginning of the trailer. He tells the audience that it is hard to believe he is an Avenger. Since this is a comedy, a random person says, “Hey Spider-Man. This is talking to the audience and saying in this movie, “We know Ant-Man is not as popular as Spider-Man, so we do not claim that he is.” This makes sense to the audience. Spider-Man has had 8 solo films where he has 20 years of films. He has also been in three other MCU films that were not his solo films. The three films being Captain America: Civil War, Avengers Infinity War, and Avengers End Game. If you think about, Spider-Man has been in 11 films that has had the character portrayed on the big screen. Ant-Man has been credited in 5 films. That mentioned him in the Infinity War, but you did not see the character on the screen in that film.
Scott Lang is with his daughter Cassie Lang, Hope Van Dyme, and Janet Van Dyme, and Hank Pym. Cassie is attempting to open a portal to the Quantum realm; Janet tells her to close it as this is shocking news. She understands that if it is open, it can have dire consequences. Remember Janet Van Dyme was in the Quantum realm for almost 30 years. She went in there in 1989 as the first Ant-Man showed the viewer. They did not get her out until 2018. She would have been in the Quantum realm for 29 years. That has been a long time. This movie will come out in theaters in 2023. They could say the year is 2023 like in Avengers: End Game. This will make sense to me to do this as the actress playing Cassie Lang has not aged that much. She still looks the same to me when she had that small role in Avengers: End Game.
In the Quantum realm; they see another universe in this place. How is this possible? They call it a micro universe. To me, we should not put Science or God in a box. What is possible? A lot of things are possible if we are open to it. Yes, Kang looks like he is supposed to. He has the look of the guy in the comics with the face. When they had him in the Loki series, Marvel did not have him in his comic book look. It is there.
This trailer was awesome, and Kang said he will help Ant-Man get back home. Why would Kang do this, since he is supposed to be the main bad guy like Thanos was in the Infinity saga? Because Kang has a different agenda than Thanos did.
