The Christmas Duet Book Review and Analysis
Introduction
Hello everyone, welcome to the Mattacritic. This is Matthew Hemenway. In this episode of the Mattacritic, I will be reviewing and analyzing the Christmas Duet written by Debbie Macomber. I will go over sever topics in this episode. If you are reading this on my blog of my Patreon page or watching the YouTube video, I thank you for that. I hope you are having a great day, if not I hope this review will cheer you up. This story will deal with Hailey Morgan who is an aspiring songwriter. She currently works as an assistant high school band teacher. She is still involved in music as she is teaching it as a band teacher, but she wants to do more. Hailey’s first passion is to write and compose music. To her music is breathing. I can understand writing is important to me. Writers can have writer’s blocks. Things happen and she has that happen. She has been running dry for years, but her best friend offers her to stay at her cabin to help her get inspiration and for her pen to come back. This trip will revitalize her and help her to be who she is meant to be. I will go over the obstacles that she must overcome. I will give you my rating at the end of this review. I hope this episode will inspire you to read, watch, and learn.

Rest of the Review and Rating of the Christmas Duet
As was mentioned before, Hailey Morgan is dealing with some issues of needing to get her pen back. She needs to have a chance to get her mojo back to say the least. She is reluctant to do the trip as she does not want to upset her mother and her father. As her best friend tells her, it does not seem to bother her sister Daisy not to go to home for Christmas. You will understand why I say she will decide to change her mind. Hailey’s mother ends up inviting her ex-boyfriend Zack Gibson for Christmas. Zack Gibson broke her heart and told her she could never achieve anything in music. This hurt her emotionally and if any person has been hurt emotionally can understand that is something that would sting. Hailey decides to go up to her friend’s cabin in Podunk, Oregon.
It is good thing that Hailey does, but it gets her chance to meet Jay whose real name is Jedidah. Jay helps her with a pest of an animal that was in her house and gets it out. One can understand why Jay does go by that name. Jay’s mother only calls him that. This is why he goes by Jay. Jay’s last name is Canter, and he is creating a music production company called Canter music. Jay Canter was in a band, but it broke up and he is more interested in running Canter music and hopes to find new talent.
Hailey Morgan plays Jay Canter her song, and he loves it. Jay tells Hailey, you are very talented, and it is hard to do what you do. As Jay tells her, some have it and some do not. You have it and you must be willing to accept it. Hailey is reluctant to believe it, but with some convincing, she starts to believe in herself. Hailey Morgan understands now that she and Jay were meant to meet.
The reason is that She and Jay start to sing in the Podunk winter festival. Hailey’s song blows up and she just received over 100,000 views on YouTube. She is a big sensation, and this will bring people to her. Those she wants to see and those she does not. Her sister Daisy will show up and at first Hailey is upset, but once she understands why has come, Hailey will help her sister. Daisy is running from her problems and does not want to deal with them. Daisy is in love with someone and is afraid. Who is the man that she is in love with? If you know the answer, please leave in the comment section below. Thank you.
Hailey Morgan will be challenged in this story. She will have more family drama come her way. If you know what that family drama is, please leave your answer in the comment section below. Nothing more will be revealed here. The story will get the reader to the climax.
I will now give you, my rating. I give The Christmas Duet, a 10 out of 10. It was fun and told a very touching Christmas story. If we all remember the reason for the Christmas season, it will help us get through even the hardest things that this world will throw at us. Hailey Morgan will grow in this story, she will figure out who she is, and she will know what her path is supposed to be. I can relate to Hailey as I had a dry spell of not being able to create any content. I hope this review will help me to get out of my writing funk. It is good that the story comes with an audio version if a person travels that is a plus. I enjoyed hearing this story.
