Hey everyone, Matthew Hemenway here. In today’s episode, I will be reviewing the Comic Book/Graphic Novel that I read. I read Iron Heart Riri Williams (Invincible Iron Man), and I found it to be particularly good. I liked the character Riri Williams and her relationship with Tony Stark’s AI version of himself. I will discuss several topics of what I saw in this book.
We meet Riri Williams at 5 years old and that at the age she was bored. She has a high IQ, and she is bored because she is not getting challenged enough. In the book, she is classified as a super genius. She needed to be asked to do things people think she could not do. Later, she makes an Iron Man armor for herself. Someone told her she would never be like Tony Stark which she proves wrong in the book. She makes that suit at 15 years old which is impressive.
Riri meets Iron Man/Tony Stark as an AI version of himself. As he said, “He downloaded himself as an AI version as a hologram in case his body stopped working.” He trains her to deal with situations like impossible odd situations. He tells her, “You cannot run when things go wrong or get tough, you will lose every time. You must stick it out.” She told him, “I wasn’t running I was delaying so I can put a computer virus in the training dummies.” When she is with Pepper Potts AKA Rescue, she must use the skills of putting a virus in their suits when an Inhuman rip it off them so they can get their suits back.
Riri later encounters Sharon Carter of Shield who she is not a huge fan of Shield. She believes that Shield wields too much power over the world. I can agree with her one agency like Shield has that much power over the world is not a good thing even if they are supposed to keep the world safe from threats like big global threats on Earth or off Earth.
There was a bombing at the Smithsonian which later leads us to Latveria. Iron Heart later encounters the big bad which is a woman. What happens in the story will surprise you and you will not see it coming.
Overall, I give this book a 9 out of 10. I thought it was well done, and I would recommend anyone to read it regardless of their age.
